Mentorship
Creating Tomorrows Bee Keepers

Recently a five-year-old friend asked, “can a girl be a beekeeper?” Of course!
Rich mentors young folks whenever he gets the chance. Offering several, six session Bee Classes every spring, we encourage folks to learn more about all our pollinators and how we are all part of nature. He is also listed on the
Southeastern Michigan Beekeepers Association website as a local mentor.
Many of our hives are in the backyards of friends and neighbors or in community gardens. Financial advisors, dentists, soccer moms and retirees are some of the folks enjoying the buzz of nature's medicine chest in their yard.
Rich also maintains an observation hive in his office, which he says, “is more fun than a goldfish bowl, but also more difficult and not advised for a beginner.”
