Awards

In the fall of 2005 my partner and I went to the Michigan Beekeepers Association annual meeting, in Mt. Pleasant, MI. We entered our Wild Detroit Honey, in the “White Honey” category, During the award presentation we didn’t get mentioned till the very end and needless to say, by that point I’d given up hope. Then came the winner of the White Honey competition. Yep you guessed, we won. Not only did when win in that category, but we took best overall winner, scoring more points then all the other entrants!

After we accepted the award my partner Joan got up and said, “We just want you all to know that honey came from inner city bees!” It also fetched a fairly hansom price when auctioned off for the MBA’s fund raiser.
